In 1997 and 98 Fender Japan offered this little series of three "Limited Edition" guitars dedicated to and designed by the Hellecasters, Will Ray, Jerry Donahue and John Jorgenson. Not only the awesome look and the rarity but also many special constructional details make these guitars very interesting and collectible.Here you can buy the tree of them as a collection we won’t sell them separately This is a pretty rare collectors guitar that was a Limited Edition (either 250 or 500 were made, depending on what you read) built by the Fender Custom Shop in Japan. Story has it only half was shipped to the U.S. This is one of three special Hellecasters models Fender in 1997 as a tribute to the famous tribute – Will Ray, John Jorgensen and Jerry Donahue.Will Ray’s signature has a gold-leaf finished Telecaster body, small-style Strat headstock, vintage-tinted, satin-finished maple neck and rosewood fretboard with white pearloid pyramid inlays. The “Hellecasters” logo is also inlaid at the twelfth fret.Special made Seymour Duncan reversed-wound Jazzmaster pickups for a beefier mid range and low end, plus a custom-wired, 4-way pickup selector switch (neck, neck/bridge series, neck/bridge parallel, bridge) and concentric tone controls that allow individual settings for each pickup.The Will Ray Jazz-A-Caster is the only Hellecaster model that comes equipped with a Hipshot™ B-bender. Will Ray is the B-bender guru.
